Summer Hairstyle(s)

It's summer here in the P.I. (Philippine Islands - some foreigners call the Philippines "P.I.") and it's horrifyingly HOT.  Yes, it rains every once in a while but the rains are not helping.  After the rain, it becomes more humid, and you can feel your clothes sticking to your body. Yes, it's THAT disgusting.  Thankfully, we live in an elevated barangay (village, district, or ward in other countries), so it is rather cool here even during daytime.  But the problem is when we go to the city center where the urban heat seeps into your bones. The heat from all the concrete around you makes you want to dip yourself in icy waters.

But anyway, the reason for all the rant I'm doing here has to do with our hair.  My husband (Daniel) and I have long hair but, in this heat, we tie our hair anyway. Here is an old picture of us with our long hairs (taken in December 2011).  Under his long hair, Daniel also had dread locks (around 10 of them).  As of now, my hair is 4 to 5 inches longer compared to my hair in the picture.

And then, a few months ago, Daniel decided to have a haircut, leaving only 2 dread locks.  Here is his picture with his short hair and 2 dread locks.  The cat with him is Rabbit (Usagi-chan).

Yesterday, Sunday, my husband decided to get a really short haircut.  Sadly, I haven't taken a picture of him with his new haircut.  I might be able to post a new picture of him tomorrow.  His haircut looks cool, and I was thinking that maybe I should also get a haircut - a short one.  I've sported a long hairstyle since I-cant-remember-when.  So, maybe it's time for a change.  But you know how women are.  Most can't just say, "Okay, I will have this haircut."  Women really have to "research" on what kind of hairstyle to get.  And this is what I did today.  I researched on what hairstyle I should get considering my oval face, and thin-textured hair (Yes, these stuff matter).  While doing some internet surfing, I came across www.thehairstyler.com.  In this website, you can have a "hair consultation" where will you be asked some questions about your hair like the length, the texture, the color, and of course, the shape of your face.  The basic account in this website is for free.  Naturally, to avail of the premium membership, you have to give a one-time payment of around $15 (which is unreasonable for most Filipinos...haha...).  Anyway, one of the suggested hairstyles for me is this:

Isn't it cute?  I will try to get this haircut within this week.  Of course, I will not look exactly like the model in the picture but at least, I don't need to tie my hair and suffer from the intense summer heat.

  1. Hello, your blog is pretty interesting and very informative.

If i am not mistaken, I saw you once live way back many years ago in Sagay City in a particular church. Seeing a girl girl guitarist was so cool. Since then, I wanted to be in a band. Lately, I came to realize that the girl member is an ARFIEN prof which earned more of my respect to the band. :)

    1. Hi Phoebe. Thanks for your comment. Yes, our band performed in Sagay City once. Aw, but it might not have been me that you saw. I play the keyboard in our band, and not the guitar. Also, I am a business professor. It is my husband who is the guitarist and he is the ARFIEN prof. Maybe it was him you saw and you thought she was a girl because of his long hair? LOL

    3. Hahaha... Now, I feel so OLD. When you were 11, I guess I was either 23 or 24. Ya, two of our music videos were shown in MYX.
